Just for a change, we rehearse…

Morning: we read the script. Afternoon: we rehearse.
Today’s diary could easily be closed here. Nothing else happened!
I could add that we read the script 7 times in the morning, and that in the afternoon we did 2 full rehearsals.
I could add that at 11.30 we ate bread and cheese to recharge our batteries. It was one of the most emotional moments of the day!
At this point the actors call each other with the names of the characters they interpret.
Every now and then I see them confabulate, I approach, even though they are talking in Swahili I still recognise the stage names, Mussa, Amina, Fatima…
And Sonia!
Oh, yes, another thing happened yesterday. We added Doctor Sonia, a new character who only enters at the end, but who is given an extremely important part, that of carrying out the ultrasound…
Shhhh! I can’t say anything else! But the performance is wonderful! Now that the almost definitive script has been adapted to the actors, each rehearsal improves.
It will be perfect on the 1,567th try!
