I have all the chakras in turmoil! Today some people are arriving from Milan and for the next three days finally there are going to be discussions about Mozambique. At Alcatraz the rumors become real news in no time. Someone has already asked me when I am leaving. I do not know anything yet. The people from Milan arrive.

3-diari-palestrai At this point let me introduce the protagonists of this adventure to you. They are sitting around the table placed in a beautiful and colorful club in Alcatraz that we call “gym”: Jacopo, Bruno, Iacopo, me. Iacopo with an I, that is not Jacopo, that one is Fo, Iacopo is Patierno.

Bruno together with Jacopo are the coordinators of the project. Iacopo-with-an-i is in charge of the video sector, he will film everything and will produce the final documentary.

Me: I do not know.

I mean, I was in Burkina Faso for four years, maybe this can help. I have been working with Jacopo for 15 years, maybe that’s why I’m here. I have collaborated in the preparation of some of his theatrical performances, maybe even this can be useful for the project, I also deal with websites, writing, communication, maybe this is why I come into the picture.

The meeting is a torrent of information: Jacopo Fo Ltd., in collaboration with Eni Foundation and Doctors with Africa Cuamm, an NGO from Padua, will promote a theatrical performance with local actors in Mozambique that can help to spread clear health messages that are useful for the prevention of the most frequent diseases. We are talking about prevention of malaria, child mortality, water purification, diffusion of compost toilets, food education. All aspects somehow related to health.

We will soon receive clear instructions from the Doctors of Cuamm.

A first mission in Mozambique is also confirmed. We are to prepare an agenda, to establish contacts …

“We all have the passports, right? And the vaccinations?”asks Bruno.

So we are the ones.
We are the Mozambique team.
I’m here because I ‘m going to Mozambique.

We will make a theatrical performance, select the actors, bring them to Italy, go back to Mozambique for the tour. And then I will write the book!

Iacopo, with an i and with the help of other cameramen, will film all the stages of the project and besides the film / documentary he will produce a series of video clips that will be posted on the site.

Jacopo (Fo) and I will deal with the “Theater” section. And I am the man for the missions in Mozambique. I keep repeating it to myself, maybe it’s just a dream.

Lunches and dinners succeed between meetings, but do not ask me what I ate …
