Are you ready to come to Italy?

The last part of this second mission in Mozambique involves us moving from Palma to Maputo in order to meet the Luarte association, formalise their participation in the project, look together at the information collected on the performances in Palma and, cherry on the cake, tell Arlete that she will be one of us, she’ll be coming to Italy!
First, though, we’ll see for the last time the actors from Palma that were selected, the magnificent 7! They need passports, they have to apply for visas to enter Italy, handle a few thousand bureaucratic questions, and take the plane.
Safina, have you ever been on a plane?
No, Safina has never been on a plane, she doesn’t even have an identity card, maybe she’s never been to Pemba, certainly never to Maputo, never outside of Mozambique.
Do they have suitcases?
I’ve always seen them with flip flops, do you think they have shoes? Heavy clothes? If I know a little bit about Africa, what they don’t have they obtain, I listen to my travelling companions who tell me that I’m worrying about nothing.
Mozambique is not like Burkina Faso, here the situation is different, better in a certain sense.
It isn’t a poor country, it’s a country that’s being built, starting from the health system that we are here to promote. Then the chosen actors are all educated people, with a job. Safina has a food shop, Agostinho is a teacher…
Yes, I’m worrying about nothing!
The meeting with Luarte went well, Arlete took it well, she arrived with a slight fever and hollow eyes, but she was smiling after the news. And she kissed everyone! Let’s welcome the germs from Mozambique!!!
Home tomorrow, isn’t it great? It’s always nice to return, you feel like a hero for a few days…:-)
