Preparing for the first training period at Alcatraz

Thanks to the logistic and organisational help of Eni Foundation, the young people from Mozambique were excellent. To tell the truth, I wasn’t expecting it but they managed to get all their documents ready in time.
On the Italian side, we sent the invitation letters to the Embassy, organised the bookings, the declaration for this, the letter for that, authorisations, insurance and so on…
Contemporaneously we prepared the Fattoria Scuola (School Farm) of Alcatraz for the stage. Beds, bedside cabinets hand made by Eleonora Albanase, the paintings of Jacopo Fo on the walls and a large table for eating which we could all sit around together: we calculated that we’ll be about twenty all in.
It’ll be great, we’ll be in close contact for 15 days, I’ve organised a trip to Gubbio, one to Perugia and a finale, the day of the return, to Rome.
The message arrived from Palma that they want to see St. Peter’s …the Vatican Basilica, I hope!!!

What will they have for breakfast?
Could our Mediterranean diet cause them problems?
Will they be cold? They could be cold…
I don’t think so but we’ve put two extra blankets in the wardrobes just in case…

It’s the eve of their arrival. Tomorrow morning at 6.30 the coach will be waiting for me at Casa del Diavolo (the House of the Devil) – that’s it’s real name! – an excellent point for starting our journey to pick up the Mozambicans at Fiumicino. And we’ll return to Alcatraz with them.
How can anyone sleep!!
Objective of the training period: to create a show!
“Jacopo (Fo), we have to outline a plan!”
“We’ll talk the first three/four days, then we’ll see”
I love it, the plan has 50 characters and required a meeting that lasted all of 3 seconds!
